- The Regulatory Implementation Plan for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Tests on Telecommunication Devices in Indonesia was opened for public comment on January 4, 2023, by the Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (SDPPI).
- The purpose of SAR testing is to safeguard the public from potential losses brought on using radio frequency-based telecommunications equipment. However, the requirements for certification of telecommunications equipment currently do not require SAR testing.
- SDPPI invite stakeholders, including telecommunications equipment vendors, telecommunications equipment testing laboratories, academics, and the public, to provide input on the plan to enforce SAR requirements SAR testing in order for the implementation of the enforcement of SAR testing obligations to function properly.
