Finally, the wait is over as CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board) has released a SOP for E-Waste grant of registration under E-Waste Management Rule 2022.
On 27th April, CPCB released and uploaded an updated SOP for grant of registration of product categories notified in E-Waste Management Rule. Now, the producers /manufacturers/ importers are authorized to apply for EPR under the newly updated E-waste EPR portal. The newly released SOP has covered detailed information of each and every document required at the time of online submission as it will definitely help the applicant to have hassle free submission.
Following are the major changes or updates covered in SOP:
i)The registration timeline has been changed to 30 days from the date of online application. Earlier it was 120 working days in E-waste Management rule 2016.
ii)The format of documents (Affidavit, covering letter, ROHS declaration, Undertaking) has been enclosed with official SOP. Details of same is mentioned in SOP.
iii)Sales data of products shall be provided as per the average life cycle notified in 2022 order.
iv)Registration fee to be submit in portal after the completion of application is still under discussion and shall be updated soon.
