Certification, Labelling, and Enforcement Provisions for Certain Consumer Products and Commercial Equipment 

  • The United States Department of Energy (“DOE”) proposes to establish and change certification, labelling, and enforcement procedures for certain consumer items and commercial and industrial equipment, as outlined in sections II and III of proposed rule. 
  • DOE proposes this rule in order to ensure reporting that is consist with currently applicable energy conservation standards and test procedures, as well as to ensure DOE has the information needed to determine the appropriate classification of products for standard application. 
  • DOE is seeking feedback on every part of this proposal from interested parties until November 28, 2023. 
  • Individuals who are interested are urged to submit comments via the Federal eRule making Portal at www.regulations.gov
