SIRIM modifies the certification renewal scheme format

CoCs that have been expired for more than six months will no longer be valid for renewal, as stated by SIRIM, Malaysia on 13th December 2023.

In accordance with clause 4.3 of the Certification Agreement eTAC/DOC/01-1, if the CoC has been expired for more than six (6) months, the system will automatically suspend it with prior notice from SIRIM QAS International.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) may revoke the CoC without giving the Certificate Holder with additional notice if no action is taken by the Holder within fourteen (14) working days of the CoC’s suspension date.

However, impacted applicants will have 30 days from the date of this statement to submit renewal applications.

If no action has been taken within 30 days, the approved Type Approval application will be closed, and the impacted product will require a new Type Approval application before it can be imported.
