Two important regulatory mandates postponed for a short period (NCCS & TEC)

Two important regulatory mandates postponed for a short period. This was necessary however, the authorities have indicated that this would be the last change in dates. Manufacturers should not procrastinate their readiness any further and it is very critical that they are ready by the new dates.

  1. National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) has extended the Mandatory dates for accepting the online applications of Wi-Fi CPEs and IP Routers for Security Testing by 3 months. The Effective date for accepting online applications on Integrated MTCTE and NCCS portal is now revised from 01-04-2024 to 01-07-2024. More details of this announcement and what should be the next step for manufacturers along with the notice can be found here

After 1st July 2024 all WiFi-CPEs and IP Routers are expected to be certified before they are imported or sold in India. The testing itself takes about 3 months so manufacturers must be shipping their samples now to start testing.

C-PRAV can help you with pre-compliance testing for the mandated ITSARs at a very competitive price and help you/manufacturer understand the performance of your products for ITSAR compliance. You can write to certifications@c-prav.com for more details.

  1. Telecom Engineering Centre (TEC) for Telecom Products: Extension of mandatory certification date for 10 products (ERs) out of 44 products notified under the phase III and IV of MTCTE (Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment) by 4 months I.e. from 1st April 2024 to 1st August 2024.

The list of the 10 products subjected to this notice can be found here. All the remaining products are now required to be certified before importation or sold in India

Following is the current status of Certified products under MTCTE as of 1st April 2024
