Important MTCTE Update: Exemption Extended for PON Equipment Parameters
As per the official notification dated 26th June 2025, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has granted a generic exemption from the submission of test reports for several parameters/interfaces specified under various Essential Requirements (ERs) related to the PON family of broadband equipment. This exemption has now been extended until 31st December 2025.
This extension provides significant relief to OEMs, importers, and applicants involved in the MTCTE (Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment) process, allowing more time to align with regulatory requirements without the immediate need for test report submissions for the exempted parameters.
Applicants are advised to upload the official notification letter on the MTCTE portal against the relevant parameters/interfaces, as outlined in the exemption notice. This step will serve as the official reference for compliance during the extended period.
