Ministry of Heavy Industry has amended The Machinery and Electrical Equipment Safety (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Order, 2024. The order covers a wide range of machinery and electrical equipment, including pumps, compressors, cranes, Diesel Generators, Centrifuges, and electrical machinery etc.. An extension has been granted for the public interest and aims to align Indian safety standards with global best practices and to promote safety for consumers and workers.
This amendment comes into force on September 1st , 2026.
