The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) has published new guidelines for evaluating compliance with Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limits outlined in RSS-102.
Following a period of public consultation, the updated procedures officially came into effect on August 15, 2025. The finalized documents include:
RSS-102.SAR.MEAS – Issue 2: Measurement Procedure for SAR Compliance
RSS-102.SAR.SIM – Issue 1: Simulation Procedure for SAR Compliance
These documents offer detailed protocols for both measurement-based and simulation-based SAR evaluations, helping to ensure wireless and RF devices meet Canada’s latest regulatory standards.
This marks an important development for manufacturers and testing facilities engaged in the Canadian wireless and radiofrequency sector.
