INDIA DoT NEWS FLASH: WPC has finally issued the much awaited NFAP- 2025

NFAP: National Frequency Allocation Planning 2025

After due diligent planning and many meetings with various stakeholders, DoT, India has finally published the NFAP 2025 document. Aligning the outcomes of the WRC-23 (World Radiocommunication Conference) and supporting Indian digital advancement. The NFAP 2025 covers diverse technologies and services like IMT, Satellite communications, Vehicular, Maritime, Telecom, consumer, etc. 

The much spoken/lobbied 6GHz band is now split for IMT (6425-7125MHz for 5G & 6G ) and Low power WiFi systems in delicensed band of 5925–6425MHz (still in draft stage). 

Additionally, great news for Vehicle radar systems: In a separate Draft Gazette, the DoT has announced delicensing of the 77 to 81GHz band for wireless equipment for the purpose of short-range automotive radar systems
