The Korean Ministry of Science, Information Technology, and Future Planning introduced an amendment, labelled Act No. 20067 of 2024, to the Radio Act on 23rd January 2024.
The amendment aims to incorporate self-conformity confirmation into the conformity assessment framework and to set out regulations for international manufacturers to appoint local representatives and report non-compliant devices.
As per Article 58-2, self-confirmation applies to individuals or entities planning to manufacturer, distribute, or import equipment with minimal risk of disrupting the radio environment or broadcasting communication network.
Test report from designated testing lab will be accepted.
The amendment will become effective on July 24, 2024.
