UK Government Legislation on Product Marking Flexibility

The government has enacted legislation to indefinitely recognize existing EU requirements, including the CE marking, for various product regulations. This change allows businesses the flexibility to use either the UKCA or CE marking for products sold in Great Britain. The draft legislation is detailed in The Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2024, providing businesses with long-term certainty and flexibility. This new regulation ensures continued alignment with EU standards, simplifying compliance for businesses operating in both markets.
