NCCS has issued a notification that the applicants (OEMs/Importers/dealers/Users) can start applying for Voluntary Security Certification (VSC) of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) devices with effect from 01/08/2024.
The notification also states the enforcement of mandatory certification dates in below 2 categories –
Category 1 – The models of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) which have Not undergone TEC certification for Essential Requirements (ERs) under MTCTE – Such products shall be mandatorily certified for their compliance to ITSAR under ComSec scheme with effect from 01/02/2025. Till such time, these products will be certified under Voluntary Security Certification (VSC).
Category 2 – The models of Optical Network Terminal (ONT) which have undergone TEC certification for Essential Requirements (ERs) under MTCTE – Such products shall be mandatorily certified for their compliance to ITSAR under ComSec scheme with effect from 01/04/2025. Till such time, these products will be certified under Voluntary Security Certification (VSC).
Note- During the VSC period, administrative fee and Security Test Evaluation Fee shall not be levied.
