INDIA BIS CCTV Security Update:  In view of the upcoming 9th April implementation of Essential Requirements (ER01) for CCTVs Security requirements, a new notification has clarified that Analog CCTV Cameras are exempt from compliance with this ER. This means manufacturers do not need to test Analog CCTV Cameras for security ER.

Here are some Key points of this notification:

  1. Self-Declaration for Existing Models: Manufacturers must submit a self-declaration listing all Analog CCTV models under their license. After April 9, 2025, only Analog models listed in this declaration and those complying with ER requirements will remain valid.
  2. Test Report Requirements: All new test reports for CCTV cameras must specify whether the model is Analog in the general product description.
  3. Application Process After April 9, 2025:
    • Analog CCTV Cameras: Must comply with IS 13252 (Part 1).
    • ALL other types of CCTV Cameras: Must comply with IS 13252 (Part 1) + Essential Requirements for Security of CCTV.
    • Applicants must not mix Analog and non-Analog models in a single application.

This update streamlines compliance for Analog CCTV Cameras while ensuring security standards for other types of CCTV Cameras from 9th April 2025
