The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) of Peru has taken another step toward accelerating nationwide 5G deployment. Following a recent public consultation, the MTC officially issued Supreme Decree No. 004-2025-MTC on March 27, 2025, which enacts the Regulations of Legislative Decree No. 1627.
This new regulation establishes the legal and technical framework to support the development and expansion of public telecommunications services using 5G or more advanced technologies. The initiative is part of Peru’s broader strategy to enhance digital infrastructure, increase connectivity, and foster innovation in the communications sector.
