The Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has officially rolled out 5G Advanced technology in Kuwait, marking a pivotal milestone in the nation’s digital transformation and laying the groundwork for the eventual adoption of 6G.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Acting Chairman Sheikh Athbi Jaber Al-Sabah highlighted that the upgraded network delivers speeds of up to 3 Gbps with ultra-low latency, positioning it as a game-changer for the telecommunications industry.
Sheikh Athbi emphasized CITRA’s ongoing collaboration with local telecom operators to develop a progressive regulatory framework. This initiative aims to encourage both public and private sector investments in Kuwait’s next-generation digital infrastructure.
By being among the first countries worldwide to implement 5G Advanced, Kuwait is reinforcing its reputation as a regional leader in advanced technology adoption and strengthening its role as a strategic digital hub in the Middle East.
