C-PRAV EVENT RECAP

Premium Product Design & EMC Compliance Workshop

31st August to 4th September, 2026

Thank you to all our speakers, guests, sponsors, and participants for making this event a success!

From 31 August to 4 September 2026, C-PRAV brought together some of the world’s leading EMC and product compliance experts in Bangalore for the Premium Product Design & EMC Compliance Workshop. Held face-to-face in Bangalore with online participation for international registrants, the five-day intensive programme drew engineers, product designers, compliance professionals, R&D teams, and technical leaders from across multiple industries.

See below for a summary of our week, and to access the exclusive presentations our EMC experts presented!

Five Days of Practical EMC Learning

The workshop was formally inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp, with Chief Guest D C Pande joining our speakers to open the week.

DAY 1

Day 1 began with Istwaan Knijff’s session on the fundamentals of EMC and the underlying physics, brought to life through live demonstrations. Dr Min Zhang followed with “Demystifying Grounding & Shielding,” setting an interactive tone that continued throughout the week.

DAY 2

Day 2 went deeper into the practical side of EMC with a full day led by Dr Min Zhang, covering shielding fundamentals, shielded cable termination strategies, and troubleshooting EMI in high-frequency and high-speed designs. Platinum sponsor Würth Electronics India demonstrated techniques for reducing differential-mode noise through component selection, and Rohde & Schwarz introduced participants to their EMC Navigator app, a reference tool for EMC standards, test types, and resources.

DAY 3

Day 3 connected EMC design to global compliance. Keith Armstrong explored how strong EMC design impacts a product’s business success, not just its ability to pass a test. Praveen Rao’s session on Standards, Regulations, Testing & Certifications (SRTC) sparked an extended discussion on the real-world challenges of global market approvals. Claus Rømer Andersen closed the day with a medical-device perspective, framing EMC compliance in terms of patient safety and risk management.

DAY 4

Day 4 combined hands-on design and simulation. Istwaan Knijff returned for an extended session on EMC robust design, testing, and ESD control. Dr Marco Klingler, joining online, led a hands-on session on using LTspice in the early stages of EMC design, combining circuit-level and field-level simulation techniques. Claus Rømer Andersen wrapped up the day with a look at real-world electromagnetic challenges in hospital environments.

DAY 5

Day 5 closed the workshop with three further technical sessions: Praveen Rao on common EMC pitfalls and anomalies in product development, Keith Armstrong on managing EMI-related safety risks in medical devices and systems under IEC TS 60601-4-6, and Dr Marco Klingler on building an effective EMC simulation workflow across the design cycle.
