C-PRAV EVENT RECAP

Premium Product Design & EMC Compliance Workshop

31st August to 4th September, 2026

Thank you to all our speakers, guests, sponsors, and participants for making this event a success!

When a lamp is lit in the traditional way, it signals more than a beginning — it announces an intent. C-PRAV’s India EMC Fest 2026 opened in Bangalore with exactly that.

Over five intensive days, engineers from across India gathered with six of the world’s foremost EMC experts — from the UK, Netherlands, Denmark, France, and Australia — for what became the country’s most practically grounded electromagnetic compatibility event in recent memory. What distinguished these sessions wasn’t the credentials assembled in one room. It was the questions that kept every single day running past its scheduled end.

See below for a summary of our week, and to access the exclusive presentations our EMC experts presented!

Five Days of Practical EMC Learning

The workshop was formally inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp, with Chief Guest D C Pande joining our speakers to open the week.

DAY 1

Chief Guest Dr. D.C. Pande joined the international faculty on stage as the opening ceremony began. The traditional lighting of the lamp set a purposeful tone for the week ahead.

Istwaan Knijff opened proceedings with three hours on EMC fundamentals and the basic physics of electromagnetic compatibility. Live demonstrations brought abstract concepts to the bench, connecting theory with what engineers actually encounter when designing and troubleshooting real products.

Dr. Min Zhang followed in the afternoon with a session on demystifying grounding and shielding — territory that looks tractable on paper and reveals its full complexity the moment a product hits trouble in the field. The participant questions started early and set a pattern that would define the entire week.

DAY 2

Day 2 belonged entirely to Dr. Min Zhang — a full day dedicated to the practical side of EMC. Live demonstrations on shielding fundamentals, cable termination strategies, and the mechanics of how shielding actually works versus how it’s often assumed to.

The afternoon moved into troubleshooting EMI at high frequencies and high-speed designs. Participants didn’t observe — they brought their own product challenges. Real engineering problems, live discussion, troubleshooting approaches drawn from Dr. Min’s own field experience.

Würth Electronics India, Platinum Sponsor, delivered a focused demonstration on reducing differential-mode noise using their components — a timely illustration of how component selection directly addresses EMC challenges. The day closed with Tushar Rastogi and Vivek Kumar Dwivedi from Rohde & Schwarz introducing the R&S EMC Navigator app: a structured reference tool for EMI/EMS standards, test visuals, and field resources that engineers could carry out of the room.

DAY 3

By Wednesday morning, participants had been waiting since Monday. When Keith Armstrong stepped forward, the applause told its own story. With over 35 years of practical EMC experience, his session reframed a question engineers often take for granted: EMC design is not just about passing a compliance test — it has a direct bearing on a product’s commercial success.

Praveen Rao followed with a session on Standards, Regulations, Testing and Certifications, drawing on more than 33 years in global market approvals. Engineers and companies brought their own certification challenges into the room. It became a working session rather than a presentation — and it ran 15 minutes past the scheduled lunch break before the questions finally paused.

The afternoon shifted perspective. Claus Rømer Andersen brought a medical-device lens to compliance — exploring why in this field, a test pass is not the destination. Demonstrating safety and effectiveness to patients and operators is.

DAY 4

Istwaan Knijff returned for a three-hour session on EMC Robust Design, Testing, and ESD Control. The session was so engaging that participants asked him to continue past the scheduled lunch break — and he did, working through real-world testing and troubleshooting scenarios from his own experience.

After lunch, Dr. Marco Klingler joined online for a session on using LTspice in the early stages of EMC design — combining circuit-level SPICE modelling with field-level EM simulation techniques. Participants had been sent materials in advance and arrived with their own simulation challenges ready.

Claus Rømer Andersen closed Day 4 by taking EMC beyond the lab: real-world electromagnetic challenges in hospital environments, where products encounter interference landscapes that no test chamber can fully replicate.

DAY 5

Praveen Rao opened the final day with a session on common EMC pitfalls — the real-world anomalies that surface in product development and the approaches engineers have used to identify and resolve them.

Keith Armstrong took on medical devices and EMI safety risks — applying IEC TS 60601-4-6 to manage safety risks caused by interference, even when EMC testing has already been passed. Third-party devices, legacy system updates, the gap between a test pass and field performance.

Dr. Marco Klingler closed the technical programme with a comprehensive session on building an effective EMC simulation workflow — simulation strategies, model refinement, frequency and time-domain approaches, complemented by live demonstrations.

Then came the group photograph. It captured the people who had shown up every morning for five days, who had kept speakers talking past break times, and who had turned a training workshop into something more closely resembling a conversation the industry had needed to have.

Thank You for your Support!

India EMC Fest 2026 would not have been possible without our expert speakers Keith Armstrong, Istwaan Knijff, Praveen Rao, Claus Rømer Andersen, Dr Marco Klingler, and Dr Min Zhang, our sponsors Würth Electronics India, Avartanam Test Labs, Cosmic Compliance Test Lab, AA Electro Magnetic Test Laboratory, Rohde & Schwarz, Blockchain Verified Sweden AB, and Aracion Technology Ltd, our event management partner Torido Fairs India, the C-PRAV organising team, and every participant who joined us across all five days.

What People Took Away

The workshop is over. The conversations it started are not. Nearly 100 engineers left Bangalore with new questions, new contacts, and a different way of looking at what EMC design actually demands.

“It was a real pleasure to present at this event in Bangalore, to nearly 100 very enthusiastic electronic engineers who had many interesting questions.”

Keith Armstrong — Cherry Clough Consultants, UK · Faculty

“Spent the time with around 100 engineers, talking through real EMC challenges, robust PCB and system design, troubleshooting, and building solid test plans. Good discussions throughout the week.”

Istwaan Knijff — CourseTec Consultancy, Netherlands · Faculty

“What I particularly appreciated was the connection between theory and real-world application. The live demonstrations made it easier to understand how design decisions at the PCB and system level influence EMC performance.”

Pooja Pandey Samant — Embedded Systems & Hardware Design Engineer · Participant

“EMC compliance starts at the design stage — not just at the testing stage. That was the biggest takeaway for our team.”

Avartanam Test Labs — Himanshu Ankleshwaria & Harshit V Jadav

“Spending 5 full days bridging theory with real-world troubleshooting on PCB layout and filter design was an incredible experience.”

Nachiket Wawoo — Senior Team Lead, Safety-Critical Hardware Development · Participant

“Some teachers teach from books. Others teach through experience, questions, challenges, and conversations.”

Sateesh Talisetty — Power Electronics Leader, Aerospace & Automotive · Participant
