The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has announced an extension of the deadline for filing annual returns under the Plastic Waste Management (PWM) Rules for FY 2024–25.
The new due date for submission has been extended to 30th November 2025, providing stakeholders with additional time to complete their filings in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Who Is Affected?
The extension applies to all entities operating under the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, including:
PIBOs – Producers, Importers, and Brand Owners
PWPs – Plastic Waste Processors
All concerned users are requested to file their annual returns within the stipulated timeline to avoid the levy of Environmental Compensation (EC) charges or potential restrictions on future transactions on the EPR portal.
This extension reflects MoEFCC’s commitment to supporting timely and transparent compliance under the PWM framework. It provides industries and waste management stakeholders with the opportunity to ensure accurate reporting, strengthen traceability, and uphold India’s ongoing efforts towards responsible plastic waste management and sustainability.
