The MACRA regulations include updated labelling guidelines, providing clear label designs and instructions on their placement to ensure easy identification of MACRA-approved products. 

Key points:  

  • Effective Date: December 1, 2024. 
  • Mandatory Use: Optional for products approved before December 1, 2024; mandatory after. 
  • Processing Time: Maximum of 45 days for approval. 
  • Certificate Validity: Permanent unless equipment specifications or manufacturer information change. 
  • Samples: Required only upon MACRA’s request. 
  • Trade Requirement: Importers and distributors must obtain a Dealership Registration Certificate. 
  • Label Specifications:  
  • Must be affixed on the electronic equipment.  
  • Must include: MACRA logo, equipment model, and alphanumeric Type Approval ID. 
  • Design: Both coloured and black/white options, adaptable to equipment surfaces. 
  • Quality: High resolution required for small labels
