In pursuit of enhancing energy efficiency standards and promoting sustainable consumption across India’s appliance sector, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)—under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, Government of India—continues to strengthen its Standards & Labeling (S&L) Program. As part of this ongoing commitment, BEE has undertaken a revision of the star rating criteria and labeling norms for Frost-Free Refrigerators (FFR), Direct Cool Refrigerators (DCR), and Ceiling Fans.
Key Highlights
New Star Rating Tables will be effective from 1st January 2026 to 31st December 2028.
Existing models will remain valid until 31st December 2025.
Model registration under revised standards begins 1st July 2026.
Updated star labels will be available on the BEE portal from 1st January 2026.
Deadline for application: 5th December 2025.
